Deadgirls

dead girls is about girls on heroin.

it's about the random murder of anonymous prostitutes
by random anonymous men.

it's about the girls i can see below my window
standing on corners waiting for clients.

[ human rubbish. ]

[ cattle lined up for slaughter. ]

it's about the situations that society places women in
that expose them to violence.

[ it's about the burqa. ]

punishment and imprisonment.

gender apartheid.

[ if i were a man i could walk down the street by myself. ]

it's about being the object of desire.

it's about the children who disappear and never return.

it's about the sheffield police force
forcing women to work in darkened industrial estates
where they can be beaten, raped and slaughtered.

[ when violence is not a knife but a needle. ]

it's about being dead inside.
